Role & Responsibilities
1. Calculate complex optical systems for lighting functions, taking into account customer requirements and legal, safety, economic and production-related framework conditions.
2. Arrange the construction and measurement of customer and lighting prototypes for checking calculated optics.
3. Analyze, evaluate and optimize the lighting technology systems according to the results of calculations and prototype measurements.
4. Coordinate the results with other optics developers and relevant departments.
5. Release series optics.
6. Arrange measurements of initial series parts; analyze, evaluate and optimize the lighting technology-related systems in accordance with the results of calculations and measurements, in cooperation with relevant departments.
7. Support the type approval.
8. Support Toolmaking and Production in device-specific lighting technology-related matters
9. Regularly advise and assist external customers regarding specific lighting technology-related issues and possibilities for implementation of customer needs.
10. Develop new types of complex optical systems, where necessary in consultation with relevant departments, including for projects in the international company network…Performing other tasks related to this position (including examining and evaluating suggested improvements, plus complying with industrial safety and environmental protection measures pertaining to the position’s duties).

Qualifications
1. Education:
General entrance qualification for higher education (Abitur).
2. Language skills:
English (fluent).
3. Vocational training / professional experience:
Graduate engineer (technical college) in mechanical/Physical engineering.
4. Job-related experience:
More than 3 years.
5. Additional knowledge/skills:
1) Product development lighting technology CAD/CAM special course.
2) Measuring and testing technology Design systems.
